Quinta DO Regueiro, Alvarinho – Trajadura

Since 1988, Quinta do Regueiro has been using old-school methods to produce some of the most prized Alvarinhos in Portugal. This bottling relies on another banner grape of the Vinho Verde, Trajadura which adds body and a lemony aromatic to the final blend. The 2019 is a pale straw-gold with silver and green reflections, with aromas of white peach, citrus, mountain wildflowers, flint, and a hint of ‘leesiness’ (a creamy note). It’s a fuller-bodied style, focused and palate-coating, with just a hint of spritz. You’ll find some Riesling and Muscadet-esque salinity and a propulsive freshness that drives a long, floral finish. It’s styled to drink now and over the next few years with seafood. You’re not going to be able to put this aromatic wonder down!
